Dear Speech Contest participants – Miroslava Zayets, Aleksandr Gulyaev, Tatiana Kostyrkina, Anna Naleskina, Andriy Spivak,

My congratulations with your powerful achievements!!!!
Remember that you all are winners due to each of you managed to persuade the person you have known the whole your life - Yourself to compete, to overcome panic, to improve and become better in public speaking.

Wish you all inspiration and motivation to move forward to improve your skills and abilities!!!
1st place – Andriy Spivak
2nd place – Anna Naleskina
3rd place – Aleksandr Gulyaev

Please find below Speech Contest participants’ feedback:

Andriy Spivak
It's a great honor and also pretty scary to compete in your "home" club. Never been more worried before. It's like - many many years back - you come in front of your family and tell them that you're going to be a kosmonaut. "Like Gagarin?" they ask. And smile, and look at you and think: "kosmonaut? '.... you'd better go and clean up your room!" And you see those looks and understand that your family is the most demanding audience in the world. Toastmasters are same and different. Because they know - if you don't give up - you'll be a Gagarin of public speaking one day! Thank you, folks! :)

Tatiana Kostyrkina
I am really appreciate having the chance to participate in speech contest. It gave me the chance to practice my speaking abilities and one more time to prove myself that I have to work on some issues to be more successful. I was impressed by preparation of all participants. All topics captured audience attention and forced us to think over important life tasks and situations. Thank you for your attitude and devotion.

Anna Naleskina
Ultimate experience.
Almost everything in our life could be postponed, even important business meeting.
Except, probably, Speech Contest. It's not possible to shift.
Contest is coming like a train, according to the schedule.
Guests are arriving, judges already confirmed participation, speakers rehearse speeches ....

I'm in the list of speakers. A short attack of panic ...
Oh my God, I've had a taught day, I'm sick, my throat is sore, my speech is not prepared well enough and this awful traffic jam ...
No, forgive me, I can't!

But how can I let down, I'm in the list of speakers and I'm an officer of the EBA Club.
It is really breathtaking feeling. You are ultimately you. With your ideas, voice, body, gestures....
Just go ahead and speak.
At this moment everything changed.
Panic has drown back, thoughts were raised, even sore throat worked nearly OK.
Great!
I'm ultimately alone and I could do it!

The afterward feeling was fantastic.
A wonderful combination of joy, satisfaction, understanding that something was done well and some inside barrier has been overcome .
The mighty part of me conquered!
Is'n it the biggest achievement?

Brgds,
Svetlana Nesterenko

Dear Friends,
Some words untill feelings are fresh ...
Yesterday we restored a tradition to implement the role of General Evaluator. To my mind it was really positive gaining. The Evaluation of the meeting in general conclude the entire impression. Whilst the appraisal of delivered evaluation drives everybody's attention to the idea how significant the evaluation is.
Yesterday were announced most active EBA members in September:

Lucy Povaliy, 24 balls - 1-st position

Svitlana Stavska, 23 balls - 2-nd place

Anna Naleskina, 19 ball - the 3-rd.

Just to remind You: Speaker - 10 balls, Table topic Session Master and General Evaluator - 8 balls, Toastmaster - 7 balls, Speech and TTS Evaluator - 6 balls, Grammarian - 5 balls, Ah-counter - 2 balls and Timer - 1 ball.
Thanks a lot to Mike Bedwell for being our Grammarian yesterday. Some useful tips from his report, just to improve the command of our language:
I'll be brief .... instead of I'll be short ...
Explaine to us ... instead of Explaine us ...
Be attantive to ... instead of Pay attention to ...
Give attention ....

He also reminded how to use correctly a simple but useful grammatical construction:
If I had (time), I would (go for a walk).
I've never dreamed to ba a blogger, but Toastmasters Club practice revealed some new features in my nature.
Among newly discovered traits - a propensity to write some hot afterward impressions.

Dear ladies and gentlemen!
I kindly remind you about paying the dues. It’s only 6$ per month! So you are about to pay 36$ per half of a year membership. For those of you who want to become a member, you should pay plus 20$ for educational material and other issues due to enrolling in the club (20$ are paid only once).
Dear ex-members, remember that it’s much easier to prolong your membership now. In case you are late to pay the dues you have a risk of a necessity to enroll in the club again (some renewals require the same 20$ for enrolling).
All the members have the right to give speeches, take roles during the meetings. Perfect bonus for members is receiving  monthly magazines from Toastmasters International.
If you need more information about paying the dues issue, please contact our Treasurer, Olga Pustyntseva +38 067 507 57 25, olya_li@yahoo.com
Have a nice spring day!
Regards,

DEBATE!

Dear friends!
On February 28 we are going to have the DEBATE! Don’t miss this unique chance to reveal your debate and persuasive skills. Currently we are thinking about the controversial statement for the event.

The participation in the Debate is open to all the members of Toastmasters community, so we’ll have some outstanding speakers from other clubs! Remember there will be two teams (only 3 people in each team), who will agree or disagree with the statement. Don’t hesitate! You are welcome to sign up in agenda!

SUMMER WINTER CARNIVAL

On this snowy day we are happy to announce that the summer will start in a few days! Why? It has nothing to do with global warming, because our Summer Winter Carnival is coming soon.

Here is a quick update about our activities at the party:

· Team-building workshop “The best summer story”

· Latino dances master-class with excellent teachers and a special guest from Cuba

· We’ll have a photo session in a special “summer island”

· A slide-show with the best summer pictures of you and your Toastmasters friends

· Don’t forget to dress in the bright summer clothes as the Best Summer Costume will receive a present!

If you have already made up your mind to attend the party, contact your club’s VP Education or VP PR, they would gladly supply you with the tickets at a price of just 50 UAH; this is a discounted price, don't hasitate :).

Hope to see you on Saturday, January 22 at HudGraf Gallery Cafe!
We’ll melt the snow with the heat of this party!
